Find freelance jobs on ColoureDev Freelancer. The local marketplace for United States: posting is free, we charge only a flat membership fee, and every job caps at 25 proposals.
What this platform gives you
A working office: invoices, a finance dashboard, a client roster, time tracking, expenses with tax estimates, and three months of cash flow.
Those tools work on the jobs you win elsewhere too — even in a month when you win nothing here.
0% commission. Whatever you agree with the client is what you keep — the platform takes nothing from the project amount.
One revenue source only: a flat membership fee paid by freelancers. Paying yearly costs ten months.
Posting a job is free, always. No listing fee, no limit on how many, and no cut of what you agree to pay.
The platform never holds, transfers or touches money between the two sides. Payment goes straight from client to freelancer.
Each job takes at most 25 proposals and then closes — which is why every one of them gets read.
New accounts get 90 days free. No credit card, and nothing is charged automatically when it ends.
Every country is a separate market, priced in the local currency. You compete with local rates, not with global underbidding.
Freelancers must clear three checks — email, phone and government ID — before they can approach any client.
Contact details in a job title or body are redacted automatically, so clients are not harvested from public pages.
Messages are permanent. Neither side can delete or unsend them — if there is ever a dispute, that record is all there is.
The iME away agent answers your messages while you are offline, draws out what the client actually needs, and hands it over when you return.
Six-axis fit analysis — skills, category, price, experience level, language and capacity — so you can see exactly where a job does not match.
Clients can turn a few keywords into a complete job brief using the platform's AI.
Free templates: a requirements spec, going-rate ranges, a freelance contract, and acceptance milestones. No account needed.
Bring your existing clients with you and use the invoicing and contract tools on work you already had.
The interface is available in eighteen languages.
Post a job for free and hire locally
Posting is free and there is no commission — nothing is taken from what you agree.
Not sure how to write the brief? Give us a few keywords and we turn them into something quotable.
You will get at most 25 proposals, not a hundred documents nobody can compare.
Every proposal comes from someone who has verified an email, a phone and a government ID.
The client took the work and did not pay. What does the platform do?
We do not hold your money and we do not arbitrate — that line does not move. What we do is put the record together for you: a content hash of every version of the contract, when each side signed, who submitted and who approved each milestone and when, and the full conversation that neither side can delete or unsend. You can export all of it and take it to mediation or a small-claims court.
Do I have to issue a tax invoice to the client?
What we generate is a request for payment, which can carry the client's registered name and tax number — it is not a government tax invoice. In most countries an individual freelancer does not issue one: the client reports the payment and withholds at source. If you trade through a company, use your own invoice and attach ours.
How do I handle tax on what I earn here?
Freelance income is usually taxed as professional income, so you can deduct costs — the tool defaults to 30% and you can change it or itemise. Taiwan, Japan and the United States are built in: income tax and any per-payment health or social surcharge are estimated together. Other countries get income, expenses and cash flow, but no tax estimate yet. It is an estimate, not a filing.
A client abroad wants to hire me. Can I take it?
Matching on the platform stays inside one country: a job posted in a country is only visible to — and open to bids from — people in that country. Work you find outside the platform is not restricted at all: invoices, contracts, time, expenses and cash flow all work on it. It is the matching that is split by country, not the tools.
If I win nothing this month, what did my membership buy?
Everything you need to run the business side on your own: invoices, a finance dashboard, a client roster, time tracking, expenses with tax estimates, and three months of cash flow. They work just as well on jobs you found elsewhere, so the fee is not a ticket to bid.
How many people will I be competing with?
At most 25. A job stops taking proposals once it is full, which is why every proposal gets read and why you will never bid into a pile of two hundred. Busy categories raise that cap in line with the last seven days of demand, but it never drops below 25.
What does it cost?
Posting a job is free, always: no listing fee and no limit on how many. Freelancers pay $18 a month, or $180 a year — the same as ten months. New accounts get 90 days free with no card, and nothing is charged when it ends.
